L O V E

We have learned a lot in the past 3 weeks... for example, we have learned that two IS a lot harder than one and that the whole "sleep while the baby is sleeping" advice is no longer an option with #2... and that it is possible to love someone TOO much. I am referring to the amount in which Taylor loves Caley. She literally cannot get enough of Caley and will not leave her alone for a second. A few times over the weekend we told Taylor to leave Caley alone (which she was unable to do, obviously) and asked her if she needed a "Caley time-out" to which Taylor responded with "ok" and actually went and sat on the steps for a time out. I don't think she's quite understanding and so now I just put Caley in the Dining Room for "Taylor breaks" so that she can nap in peace.

Taylor is very sweet with Caley though. She loves to hold her and kiss her... and help with diaper changes. I guess we could have bigger problems than too much L O V E :)

a good morning

Wed. was my first day of being home with both girls without anyone else here to help out. It definitely was a challenging day since i am still very sore and not yet 'healed' from the c-section. I still can't lift Taylor or drive anywhere if we just need to 'get out' so keeping these babies happy was key! We watched A LOT of Dinosaur Train, that's for sure, and Caley got to try out the sling as i really needed my hands for managing Taylor! There were some tears throughout the day (Taylor's not mine) as Taylor is currently refusing to nap in her bed and would prefer to nap under her bed or on the floor in her doorway, but luckily there were smiles as well!

loving being a big sister

Taylor seems to love being a big sister! She is constantly kissing and wanting to hold Caley. When she wakes up in the morning, she immediately wants to see / kiss Caley. She even likes to "help" change diapers.
Whenever Caley cries, Taylor says "its alright Caley".  Its all very sweet :)

visitors

Erin, Ella and Josie came for a slumber party visit last week. Taylor was thrilled to have visitors (as were Patrick and myself!) I think the girls had a great time together! :)

check up

Caley went for a check-up to make sure she is back at birth weight now and to check on how she is doing overall. Our pediatrician said that she looks great and is gaining weight just as she should be! He is still amazed at how much hair she has (as is everyone!)

Her stats:  7lbs 12 oz so officially past her birth weight (maybe daddy has been sneaking her dessert) and 19 1/2" long

Her weight is in between 25th and 50th percentile and her length is right on the 25th percentile mark.
