early morning tea

It has been so hot and muggy this week that we haven't been playing outside as much as we like to. When Taylor suggested a tea party Friday morning, and it was only 70 at the time, we jumped on it! Taylor was very sweet about trying to serve Caley tea, but Caley seemed a little confused about the "pretend" part.

learning, maybe

We have 5 packs of flash cards. They used to be separated and Taylor liked to use them for learning / practicing colors, shapes, numbers, letters, etc. Well, now they have been combined into one jumbo set (who knows how many have been lost) and Taylor and Caley pretend to have a very serious teacher / student learning session going on, although i'm not sure how good of an education it is.

beach babies

Our 2nd beach day we went to Roger Wheeler state beach which is very child friendly, and the girls could not get enough of the water!!! It was a very fun (and exhausting in a good way) day!

we went for a picnic lunch and stroll at Fort Adams state park

Taylor LOVED all the boats. Her favorite was a red one that looked like a pirate ship.

mini aquarium

Rain on Thursday morning led us to a small "aquarium" trip. The smallest aquarium i've ever seen, but Taylor loved it. The girls were able to hold / touch live starfish, sea urchins, hermit crabs and small sharks! Caley was less impressed, but got a kick out of all of the "fishy". Taylor was very intrigued by the turtles, all the different kind of fish and the skates (that look like stingray). Didn't get a picture of them, but we also saw a tank full of sea horses which Pat and I both commented we have never seen before. Taylor loved them and wanted to bring one home.
