all dressed up
Patrick has told me that he never puts Taylor in a dress because "all" of her dresses look like 'ball gowns' to him... I explained to him that she has everyday casual dresses and some church dresses, but she does not have any 'ball gowns'.
example of church dress...
example of church dress...
we didn't know it at the time, but apparently this look meant,
"i plan on being very bad at church today"
"let's dance!"

priorities
Taylor wanted to watch Dinosaur Train, but then decided that her baby desperately needed to have her diaper changed... She is concentrating so hard!

customer in training
After Flamig Farm we wanted to try out Peachwave (frozen yogurt shop) and so we also made a quick run into the grocery store to pick-up items for dinner. Fitzgerald's has "customer in training" shopping carts for kids, which was a HUGE hit for Taylor. She was more than happy to shop with her own cart.

Homemade Pad Thai with Chicken
Because this was so delicious I am going to share the recipe :)
Made for a VERY happy mama and a very happy bump baby
Pad Thai with Chicken
Serving of 3 - 4
Ingredients
1 (12 ounce) package rice noodles OR 12 ounces of fettucine noodles
2-3 tablespoons canola oil for marinating chicken
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breast halves, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1/3 cup vegetable oil for “sauce”
3 eggs
1 tablespoon white wine vinegar
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon white sugar
1/8 tablespoon crushed red pepper
2 cups bean sprouts * OPTIONAL *
1/4 cup crushed peanuts
4 green onions, chopped
1 large lime, cut into wedges
Directions
1. If using rice noodles, soak rice noodles in cold water 30 to 50 minutes, or
until soft. Drain, and set aside.
If using fettucine noodles, boil water and cook noodles as directed (until al dente)
2. If using fettucine noodles, Preheat a large heavy skillet on medium heat (to cook chicken) while waiting for water to boil. Mix chicken with 2-3 tablespoons of canola or vegetable oil, season with salt and pepper and mix in 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. Saute chicken until browned. Remove, and set aside.
3. Heat 1/3 cup of oil in wok over medium-high heat. Crack eggs into hot oil, and cook until firm. Stir in chopped green onion (reserve ¼ of green onion to mix in at end) and peanuts. Reduce to medium heat, Stir in chicken, and cook for 5 minutes. Add vinegar, soy sauce, sugar and red pepper flakes. Adjust seasonings to taste. Mix while cooking for 2 -3 minutes.
4. Mix in rice or fettucine noodles to sauce mixture, continue cooking 1 – 2 minutes. Garnish with bean sprouts if desired. Mix in remaining chopped green onion. Serve with lime wedges.
back to Flamig Farm
We went back to Flamig Farm to see if Taylor would be interested in the horses this time. The good news is she was interested in the horses, the bad news is she was less interested in ALL of the other animals this time. She didn't want to feed the donkeys or goats this time around and the ducks which she did like, weren't interested in her... kind of a bust.
Oh look, a horse...
and turkeys?
we learned that this horse gets to wander loose throughout the farm so that he can benefit from all of the treats available. He is 30 years old, named Tigger, and they are trying to get his weight up so while they ask that the other horses not be fed, Tigger can snack as much as he wants! He wasn't all that interested in us until Patrick offered him some grass.
and to our surprise, Taylor actually wanted to pet him

Julie's Baby Shower
Congratulations to Julie & Baer - they only have 6 weeks to go!! We can't wait to find out if it's a boy or girl and meet the little one! :)
Big sister, Ella & Baby sister, Josie were there of course!
Taylor likes to look at Josie and touch her feet. Hoping this is a good sign for baby Caley!
Ella was a great big helper for Julie when it came time to open presents :)
Josie tried out the new baby quilt...
Taylor and Ella were kind of relentless about involving Erin in their activities...
Erin is a trooper!
Me 28.5 weeks, Julie (who is about 34 weeks) and Erin who just had Josie 2 months ago!

Garden Project
Since i have abandoned hope on the back corner garden for this year we have decided to focus our efforts on the front yard. This was our project for today...
In case you don't remember (or never saw it) this is what the front of the house looked like when we bought it... We still need to get shutters and paint the front door, but we think its looking a lot better already! :)

puzzles
Taylor is very into puzzles these days so it was very fitting that the Walkers gave her a very fun floor puzzle. Its a little too advanced for her, but she is very interested in it. Brandon and Uncle Clint helped her put it together and she was thrilled! :)
